A beautiful banger that doesn’t fit your rig is an ornament. If you’re not certain, bring the piece in — it takes ten seconds to check across the counter and saves you a second trip. Glass thickness is the spec worth reading. Thicker walls survive being knocked over. Thinner glass is lighter and cheaper. Neither is wrong; they’re different trade-offs, and which one suits you depends on whether the piece lives on a shelf or in a bag. Quartz or titanium, if you’re buying a banger. Quartz is chemically inert so it doesn’t add anything of its own, but it chips if you drop it. Titanium is effectively unbreakable and holds heat far longer — which also makes it easy to overshoot.
