Yocan in Mount Dora, FL

Yocan occupies the other end of the market from Puffco, and it is honest about it.

These are inexpensive, serviceable pens — the Evolve series and its relatives — built to a price with coils you replace rather than a device you baby. Nobody is pretending this is precision equipment. What it is instead is the sensible way to find out whether you actually want a concentrate setup before spending several hundred dollars discovering you do not.

They are also the practical choice for anything portable or losable. A pen that lives in a bag and occasionally gets dropped is a different purchase from one that sits on a table at home, and people routinely own both.

The consumable is the coil. Yocan coils are cheap and they wear out noticeably — a tired one tastes wrong well before it stops working, which is usually the signal. Buy spares when you buy the device; it is the difference between a two-minute swap and a wasted evening.

Find them in vapes with the replacements in coils and pods. Ask at the counter which coil your model takes — the pens look similar and the fittings are not.
