Sorrento sits on the quiet eastern side of the county, and the run to this counter is 7.6 miles, about sixteen minutes — far enough that it is worth doing properly rather than twice in a week.
The drive
Head west on Sanford Road for roughly four miles. It feeds onto CR 46 at East 1st Avenue, and from there you follow Old 441 — signed through North Highland Street and East 5th Avenue — the last two and a half miles into Mount Dora. We are in the Mount Dora Plaza Shopping Center on the right.
It is a pleasant drive and an easy one, but it has more turns than the approaches from Tavares or Eustis, so it is worth having directions open the first time.
Sixteen minutes is the free-flow number. The eastern stretch rarely holds you up; Mount Dora itself can, particularly on a weekend when the downtown is busy.
Make one trip count
This is the honest difference between Sorrento and the closer towns. At sixteen minutes each way you are spending half an hour on the road, so the sensible approach is one considered visit rather than three quick ones.
That favours the parts of the shop where choosing well actually matters. Glass pipes and water pipes are the obvious ones — handling a piece before you commit is the whole point, and buying two good ones in a single trip beats guessing twice online.
It is also the right trip for dab rigs and accessories, where joint sizes, bangers and carb caps have to actually fit each other, and for stocking up properly on coils and pods rather than buying one at a time.
